Mubadala Petroleum and its partners, Petronas and Sarawak Shell, have started gas production from the Pegaga gas field in Block SK 320, off the Malaysian coast.
Located in the Province of Central Luconia, the Pegaga gas field is at water depths of approximately 108m. Its development concept includes an Integrated Central Processing Platform (ICPP) that features an eight-legged jacket.
The Pegaga platform is capable of processing 550m standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd) of natural gas plus condensate.
The gas generated from the field will be delivered through a new 4km subsea pipeline that connects to an existing offshore gas network and eventually to the onshore Petronas LNG complex.
Mubadala Petroleum has been present in Malaysia since 2010 and is the operator of Block SK 320 with a 55% stake. Petronas, through its subsidiary Petronas Carigali, has a 25% stake, while Sarawak Shell owns the remaining 20% interest in the offshore Malaysian block.
