The Renewable Energy Infrastructure Group (TRIG) has signed an agreement with Global Infrastructure Partners to acquire a 7.8% interest in the Hornsea One offshore wind farm in the UK.
Located 120km off the coast of Yorkshire, England, the Hornsea One offshore wind project is stated to have demonstrated outstanding operational performance since its commissioning in 2020.
Global Infrastructure Partners owns the offshore wind project under a 50/50 joint venture (JV) with Ørsted, which is also the operator.
Featuring 174 Siemens Gamesa 7MW turbines installed, the offshore wind project covers an area of 407km² and is considered the world’s largest offshore wind farm.
The transaction, which is currently subject to regulatory and lender approvals, is expected to be received in a few months. Its closing is expected to take place at the end of first half 2022.
