RWE wins concession for offshore wind project in Denmark

03 Dec 2021

RWE has secured a concession from the Danish Energy Agency (Energistyrelsen) to develop the Thor offshore wind project in Denmark.

The wind farm has a planned capacity of approximately 1GW and will be the largest offshore wind farm in Denmark to date.

Thor will be built near the west coast of Denmark and is scheduled to be fully operational in 2027.

Once fully operational, the offshore wind farm will be able to produce enough green electricity to supply approximately 1.4m Danish households.
