EDF Power Solutions UK and PS Renewables have launched the public consultation process for its proposed South Brooks project in Kent. The solar farm is planned to have a generation capacity of 500MW and feature an energy storage element.
Once operational, South Brooks should generate enough electricity to supply 140,000 homes (equivalent of 20% of Kent) and avoid 225,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions every year.
The initial consultation on early proposals for South Brooks will received feedback from the local community between 18 September and 30 October 2025.
