Sumitomo Corporation's subsidiary Ammolite Carbon Sequestration and Reconciliation Energy Transition (RETI) have joined forces for the development of a carbon capture and storage (CCS) project in Canada.
Both companies have signed a development agreement for the East Calgary Region Carbon Transportation & Sequestration Hub (CTS Hub) project in Calgary, Alberta.
CTS Hub will now progress to front-end engineering and design (FEED) phase, with start-up aimed for 2026. The facility is planned to store up to 10 million tonnes of carbon dioxide per year.
