Mitsubishi Power's third M701JAC unit for a natural gas-fired power plant in Thailand is now operational. The plant, developed by a joint venture between Gulf Energy Development PLC and Mitsui & Co., is located in the province of Rayong.
The plant includes two gas turbine combined cycle (GTCC) power plants, with each featuring four gas turbine units, steam turbines, heat recovery steam generators and generators.
This is the seventh of eight M701JAC units to be installed across two GTCC facilities in Rayong and Chonburi. Combined, these assets will represent a total output of 5.3GW.
Full operations at the plant should be achieved later this year.
