Challenger, the world’s largest floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) is now at the South Cheung Chau Anchorage in Hong Kong. The FSRU will be connected to Hong Kong’s first LNG terminal, currently in its final stage of development.
Once the vessel is fully checked by port authorities, it will head to the terminal in the Soko Islands. Developers CLP Power and HK Electric expect to complete commissioning next week.
The Challenger FSRU, with a length of 345 metres, will be renamed Bauhinia Spirit. The unit has a storage capacity of 263,000m³ of LNG.
