South Dakota’s Public Utilities Commission (PUC) has granted approval to Engie’s 200MW North Bend wind farm in Hughes and Hyde counties.
North Bend’s site is located to the west of Triple H, another wind farm operated by Engie.
Covering an area of nearly 47,000 acres, the project will require the installation of 71 turbines, construction of a 230kV substation, and other activities.
Start-up is scheduled for 2023, with total investment calculated at US$265-285m.
