A new 375MW photovoltaic (PV) plant to be built in Cedillo, Spain, by developer Iberdrola has been granted environmental approval from local authorities. The project’s feasibility studies were executed by Ecoenergías del Guadiana.
Over 750,000 bifacial panels will be installed to compose the Cedillo project, enough to provide energy to 178,000 houses. About 77,000 tonnes of carbon emissions will be avoided.
Construction work, which will involve local content, will require up to 800 new jobs. Cedillo is expected to be fully operational by early 2023.
Faramax has been chosen as the project’s transformers supplier, while IMEDEXSA is delivering towers for Cedillo’s transmission line.
