Tailwind Energy has announced first oil from its Evelyn field. Located in the UK Central North Sea, Evelyn was acquired by the operator from Shell in 2018 and is solely owned by Tailwind.
Originally discovered in 1984, Evelyn’s field development plan (FDP) was submitted to the North Sea Transition Authority in 2020. It was granted regulatory approval in 2021.
The project’s subsea development phase was carried out by Dana Petroleum (E&P) Ltd and Technip FMC. The EV-01z well, drilled in 2021, was tied back to the Triton floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) unit. Tailwind owns 46.42% of the vessel.
Tailwind expects Evelyn to significantly expand its gas production. Along with expansion works at the Gannet-E field, 10,000 barrels of oil equivalent (boe) per day are expected to enter the company’s capacity.
