Equinor is nearing the start of operations for both its Hywind Tampen and Dogger Bank projects in Norway and the UK, respectively. First power should start this year still, with remaining works being carried out until 2026.
Hywind Tampen, where 60% of contracts have been secured by Norwegian companies, is scheduled to start production later this year. Subsea cables are already placed and connection to Gullfaks A is complete.
Full operations for Hywind Tampen are expected in the first half of 2023. After completion, it will be the world’s largest floating offshore wind farm, as well as the first offshore wind facility to power oil and gas platforms.
Dogger Bank, meanwhile, had its foundations installed last July. With first power scheduled for the second half of 2023, the entire Dogger Bank complex (comprising Dogger Bank A, B and C) will be fully operational in 2026.
