British company Avenir LNG has signed a joint collaboration agreement (JCA) with Croatian firm Prvo Plinarsko Društvo (PPD) for the purchase and distribution of liquefied natural gas (LNG). The LNG will come from Croatia’s terminal on the island of Krk.
The agreement determines that distribution by Avenir LNG will be carried out by truck and small-scale LNG vessels. The supply will be delivered to off-grid industries, power generation facilities, marine bunkering and truck refueling stations in to Northern Italy and Eastern Europe.
Activities covered by the JCA will start in October 2022. The companies are also looking for executing feasibility studies regarding a LNG breakbulk terminal on the Adriatic Sea.
In May 2021, Avenir and PPD conducted the Krk FSRU’s first reloading operation of small-scale LNG.
