The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has awarded two contracts related to its offshore Hail and Gasha projects (also known as the Ghasha mega-project) to ADNOC Drilling. Combined, the two contracts are worth $2bn.
The first contract, with a value of $1.3bn, secures the provision of integrated drilling services and fluids by the contractor. ADNOC Drilling will also be responsible for supplying four island drilling units established through the second contract, worth $711m.
A third contract for offshore logistics and marine support services, signed with ADNOC Logistics & Services and valued at $681m, has also been disclosed.
The three agreements will be valid throughout the drilling campaign phase of the Ghasha mega-project, which is estimated to last up to 10 years.
The Hail and Ghasha developments are considered one of the world’s largest offshore sour gas projects. With production set to start by 2025, its natural gas output is expected to reach 1.5bn standard cubic feet per day (scfd) by 2030.
