The Mikronoros wind farm, developed by Iberdrola in the province of Rhodope, Greece, has been fully powered up and operations have now begun. Mikronoros adds 33.6MW of capacity to the grid.
The plant is composed by eight V150-4.2MW turbines, with 105 metres of hub height and 150 metres of rotor diameter.
Construction and installation work at Mikronoros’ site started in 2021, being delayed from March to July because of environmental limitations and in August because of fire risk.
With the Mikronoros wind farm reaching start-up, Iberdrola’s portfolio with Rokas Renewables totals 315MW of installed capacity in the country.
