Petrobras has selected Seatrium for two newbuild contracts for the Atapu and Sépia oilfields offshore Brazil.  The contractor has been chosen after the conclusion of an international tender, with works valued at US$8.15bn.
Seatrium will be responsible for the construction of the P-84 and P-85 floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) units, to be deployed at the Atapu and Sépia fields, respectively. The fields are located in the Santos Basin, 200km off the coast of Rio de Janeiro.
Each of the new FPSOs will feature a production capacity of 225,000 barrels of oil per day (bopd) and a gas processing capacity of 10 million cubic metres per day (m³/d).
Construction works are expected to start in early 2025, with delivery scheduled for 2029.
