Iberdrola has reached a milestone in the development of its Baltic Eagle project in the German Baltic Sea. The company recently announced the installation of the offshore wind farm's first turbine.
This the first of 50 Vestas V174-9.5MW wind turbines to be installed at the project's site. In total, the power plant will have a generation capacity of 476MW, enough to meet the demands of almost 475,000 households.
With start of operations set for the end of the year, construction has been ongoing since August 2022. Baltic Eagle is owned by both Iberdrola and Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar).
