ADNOC and EnBW have signed a 15-year heads of agreement for the supply of 0.6 million metric tonnes per annum (mmtpa) of liquefied natural gas (LNG). The LNG will come mainly from ADNOC's Ruwais project to be built in Abu Dhabi.
The lower-carbon Ruwais LNG plant is expected to be the first LNG export facility in the Middle East and Africa to run on clean power. It will feature the latest technologies and artificial intelligence (AI) to minimise emissions.
This is Ruwais' third supply agreement. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2028 once the project is operational.
