Coastal Virginia, the largest offshore wind project in the US to date, completes permitting process

The United States Federal Permitting Improvement Steering Council has announced the conclusion of Coastal Virginia's environmental permitting process. In development by Dominion Energy, the 2.6GW offshore wind farm will be able to power 660,000 households.

According to the Council, Coastal Virginia is the largest offshore wind project to date in US history. The power plant will require US$9.8bn of total investment for its implementation.

The wind farm will feature 176 turbines, to be installed 27 miles off the coast of Virginia Beach.
