Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP) has firmed an agreement with Eversource Energy for the acquisition of the latter's 50% stake in the Revolution Wind and South For Wind offshore wind farm projects in the United States.
The deal has been valued at approximately US$1.1bn and does not impact Ørsted’s 50% stake in both projects.
The transfer of the stakes will be made official after regulatory approvals are received from the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and the New York Public Service Commission.
Revolution Wind, with a capacity of 704MW, is scheduled to enter operations in 2025.
