Ørsted is now fully owner of the Sunrise Wind offshore wind farm in the United States after acquiring Eversource's 50% stake in the project. Even though the value of the transaction has not been disclosed, Ørsted affirmed that the transfer of the stake still pends certain conditions.
The 924MW Sunrise Wind offshore wind farm is planned to be built in New York, approximately 48km east of Montauk Point. Approximately 600,000 homes will be powered by the facility.
According to Ørsted, Sunrise Wind is New York's most advance offshore wind project, with start-up scheduled for 2026.
