Octopus Energy acquires solar farms in Germany

Octopus Energy has entered the German solar market through the acquisition of two solar farms in the country. The power plants are the Schiebsdorf and Hartungshof solar farms, the latter, a 20.8MW facility in Saarland, is operational since March 2023.

Schiebsdorf, meanwhile, is designed to have a capacity of 122MW in Brandenburg. Construction works are already ongoing and should be concluded this year still.

Once Schiebsdorf is operational, the two plants will jointly produce enough clean energy to meet the demands of 55,000 homes per year.
