Northland Power has concluded financing for an energy storage project in Southern Ontario, Canada. To be built in Haldimand County, the lithium-ion battery facility is planned to have a capacity of 250MW/1,000MWh.
The project, called Oneida, is under development by Northland Power (72%) in association with NRstor, Six Nations of the Grand River Development Corporation and Aecon Group.
Oneida is calculated to require an investment of US$800m, being the largest clean energy storage project in Canada.
