IberBlue Wind is currently looking to install two floating offshore wind farms across the border between Spain and Portugal. The Juan Sebastián Elcano and Creoula plants will have a joint capacity of up to 1.96GW.
The project, whose value is currently estimated at €4bn and will require a workforce of 5,000 people, will consist of the installation of 109 wind turbines over an area of 530km².
Combined, the plants will be enough to power over a million homes once commercial operation starts.
