After revising the plan of development (POD) for its proposed Abadi LNG facility, INPEX has added a carbon capture and storage (CCS) element to the project, which is now going through governmental assessment in Indonesia.
Abadi LNG’s POD had already been revised in 2019, detailing a total investment of US$15bn and a production capacity of 9.5 million tonnes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) per year.
The POD also covered the development of the Abadi gas field in the Arafura Sea as well as the daily production of approximately 35,000 barrels of condensate.
INPEX expects to take a final investment decision (FID) on the project after 2025, with start-up scheduled in the beginning of the 2030s.
