Mercedes-Benz has reported the signing of a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Iberdrola related to the Windanker offshore wind project. To be built in the Baltic Sea, the plant will have over 250MW in capacity.
According to the agreement, 140MW of Windanker’s capacity has been secured by Mercedes-Benz, with power supply starting in 2027. This is equivalent to approximately 30% of the company’s electricity demands.
Iberdrola’s plans for Windanker include 42 turbines on monopile foundations in water depths of between 41 and 45 metres.
