Statera Energy has disclosed its intention to install a green hydrogen project in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. To be built in Kintore, the 3GW electrolyser facility will be powered by wind farms.
The green hydrogen to be generated by the project will serve as supply to Statera Energy’s power plants and other industrial hubs in the UK via the existing gas pipeline network.
Kintore’s front-end engineering design (FEED), planning and consenting works will be funded by the UK’s Net Zero Hydrogen Fund (NZHF). The first 500MW of the project will also be supported by NZHF.
Schedule predicts completion of the FEED studies in 2024, enabling a final investment decision (FID) in 2025 and start of operations in 2030.
