Iberdrola has concluded the first phase of civil works for its Saint-Brieuc offshore wind farm in Brittany, France. Once operational, the 75km² facility will have a capacity of 496MW.
So far, 65% of the piles (produced by Windar) and 40% of the platforms (produced by Navantia) have been installed successfully.
Over the course of January, the company expects to progress construction with the installation of interconnecting cables. Iberdrola calculates the project’s value at €2.5bn.
Assembly of the offshore wind turbines is expected in the second half of the year, with start-up following soon after.
