The government of Trinidad & Tobago has greenlit a 112MWac/148MWp photovoltaic (PV) project in the country. Once complete, the plant will be Trinidad & Tobago’s first utility-scale solar plant.
A few weeks, ago, a final investment decision (FID) concerning the project was announced by developers BP, Shell and Lightsource BP.
The PV cluster approved by the current administration will feature two facilities: Brechin Castle (92MWac/122MWp) and Orange Grove (20MWac/26MWp).
Construction management services will be handled by Lightsource. Works are expected to start early in 2023, with first power coming in the second half of 2024.
