Energy Vault has been selected for the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) of an energy storage project in Las Vegas, United States. Construction work is expected to start in the second quarter of 2023.
The 220MW/440MWh grid-tied battery energy storage system (BESS) facility will be charged and discharged every day, with the accumulated renewable energy being dispatched in order to be used for Nevada’s high demand in peak load hours.
The project is developed by NV Energy, Nevada's major public utility.
Commercial operation is scheduled for late 2023.
