Cepsa has under works a development plan for a 2GW green hydrogen hub in southern Spain. Named Andalusian Green Hydrogen Valley, the initiative will require €3bn.
The hub will consist of two facilities with 1GW of capacity each: one in Palos de la Frontera, Huelva province, and another in San Roque, Cádiz. Both will be located close to Cepsa’s existing energy parks.
The plant in Cádiz will start activities in 2027, while the Palos de la Frontera plant will start in 2026 and reach full operations in 2028.
The plants combined will enable Andalusian Green Hydrogen Valley to produce 300,000 tonnes of green hydrogen per annum.
