About this event
The EIC is happy to announce the Breakfast in Rio with SBM Offshore
SBM Offshore specialises in the design, supply, installation, operation, and maintenance of FPSO vessels. As market demands shift, the company remains dedicated to addressing them by innovating safer, more efficient, and sustainable methods to harness the energy potential of the oceans.
The company is celebrating the departure of its newest and largest floating FPSO vessel, the Almirante Tamandaré, which has recently left the China Merchants Heavy Industry (CMHI) shipyard in China. The destination is the Búzios field, where the vessel will play a crucial role in Petrobras' operations. The unit is designed for a 26-year operation, highlighting the commitment and long-term vision of the collaboration between the two companies. The Almirante Tamandaré is capable of producing up to 225,000 barrels of oil per day and processing 12 million cubic metres of gas daily, complemented by significant innovations in environmental technology.
In July 2024, SBM Offshore and Ocean Power signed a Memorandum of Understanding to collaborate on a pioneering floating power generation hub with CO2 capture and storage. This partnership is set to drive joint business development in the region and make a substantial contribution to offshore power generation decarbonisation and carbon neutrality efforts. The hub will utilise Ocean-Power’s innovative “Blue Power Hub” concept, which employs gas turbines and carbon capture technology to significantly reduce CO2 emissions. It will supply power to offshore assets via submarine cables, minimising impact on the national grid and balancing wind power capacity through a bi-directional transmission structure.
Trident Energy is recognised as one of the industry’s most experienced teams in the science of operating and redeveloping mid-life oil and gas assets.
Tridents Energy aims to build a diversified portfolio of substantial onshore and offshore assets, with a focus on Africa and Latin America while also keeping Southeast Asia and the Middle East on their radar. In Brazil, the company has acquired Pampo and Enchova fields, located in the Campos basin. Trident Energy holds 100% interest and is the operator of all 10 concessions.
In June 2024, Trident Energy signed an agreement with Trendsetter Engineering. The American company is set to supply two six-slot subsea production manifolds for Trident Energy’s Bonito and Bicudo concessions in the Campos Basin. This agreement encompasses the design and manufacture of the subsea manifolds, including associated pipework and mudmat foundations. The manifolds are expected to be delivered in the third quarter of 2025, with offshore installation to follow.
