About this event
ABOUT THE EVENTThe Latin America & Caribbean Hydrogen & CCUS Decarbonisation Summit, will be looking at how green hydrogen, carbon capture storage and carbon capture utilisation storage can help decarbonise the energy intensive sectors in the Latin American region. This includes oil, gas, mining, agriculture and cement amongst other sectors.
The Latin America & Caribbean Hydrogen & CCUS Decarbonisation Summit will focus on how to determine strategies for greater decarbonisation of the energy intensive sectors and enhance collaboration and innovation between 300+ government officials, regulators, key industry stake holders, leading academia and service companies.

This session will review energy transition policies of the leading LATAC countries.
Session II - Energy MixLatin America & the Caribbean incorporate a very diverse energy mix with oil and gas being one of the main energy sources for the continent and the need for countries to lower its CO2 emissions to meet the Paris Climate Change agreement. This session will look at the current energy mix across each country and look at how hydrogen and carbon capture storage can be implemented in their decarbonisation plans.
Session III - Green Hydrogen Production ProjectsLatin America & the Caribbean incorporate a very diverse energy mix with oil and gas being one of the main energy sources for the continent and the need for countries to lower its CO2 emissions to meet the Paris Climate Change agreement. This session will look at the current energy mix across each country and look at how hydrogen and carbon capture storage can be implemented in their decarbonisation plans.
Day 2Session I - Carbon Capture Storage & CCUS ProjectsThe application and incorporation of carbon capture, utilisation and storage is key to the successful development of a hydrogen economy and as energy transition takes place across the Latin America region carbon capture technologies can develop a path to blue hydrogen production. This session will look at different CCS projects across the region and successful international case studies with many opportunities available with all oil and gas majors now committing to hit net zero by 2050.
Session II - Energy Storage & InfrastructureThere is an ever-changing landscape of energy demand and energy needs and in some parts of Latin America there is very limited or no accessibility to energy. This session will look at how different countries can work together to provide sustainable energy across the region and different energy storage technologies and options that are available.
Session III - Investment & EconomicsWith sustainable and environmentally friendly projects taking the forefront for investors within energy projects offshore wind, CCUS and Hydrogen will provide a global economic opportunity for the Energy sector and holds great potential for both continued developments. This session will consider investment potential & trends, opportunities for Latin America to create a sustainable market, funding opportunities, public & private partnerships, investing in R&D, and funding initiatives. Commercial barriers to development will also be addressed, including investment risks, considerable capital requirements, and challenging route-to-market in Latin America.
