Join the EIC’s South America in the Breakfast in Rio with Brasken to present “Breakfast in Rio - Downstream Opportunities with Braskem”. The largest producer of thermoplastic resins in the Americas, Braskem offers a wide range of downstream services in the plastics industry. The company operates several downstream units that are dedicated to transforming basic chemical inputs into a diverse array of plastic products.
Braskem's downstream services include the production of resins, compounds, and other plastic materials. The company holds 29 industrial plants in Brazil alone and eleven worldwide, exporting to more than 70 countries, with a yearly production of 15.4 million tons.
In addition to its downstream services, Braskem is committed to sustainability and has developed several initiatives to promote environmental responsibility throughout its operations. The company has the goal to increase green polyethylene production capacity by 1 million tonnes by 2030.
Founded in 2010, MDC Energia is a pioneer in collecting and treating of biogas generated from renewable sources in order to produce biomethane. It acts in an integrated way in the chain with partners in the technology and raw material links to market the biofuel, offering an integrated way of product and service in the value chain. It pioneered the emission and marketing of biomethane traceability certificates. Its plants in Ceará and Rio de Janeiro feature a combined installed capacity of 100,000 cubic metres per day of biomethane, and there are plans to build a new plant in Manaus, this one featuring a production capacity of 60,000 cubic metres of biomethane per day.
