About this event
UAE Emirates Conformity Assessment Scheme (ECAS) Compliance OverviewThe Emirates Authority for Standardisation and Metrology (ESMA) has given notice of its intention to conduct an intensive inspection campaign on showrooms and warehouses in the market commencing 1st October 2019.
These inspections will verify compliance with the Emirates Conformity Assessment Scheme (ECAS), a mandatory regulatory program for specific products marketed in the UAE. The scope of ECAS covers a range of industries including electrical products, automotive, construction, cosmetics and food. All manufacturers, traders, importers and retailers, must sell, display and store products which comply with the relevent legislations and must ensure a Certificate of Conformity is available upon request. Failure to obtain a Certificate of Conformity is considered a violation and may result in legal actions such as a product recall and penalties.
SPEAKERWe are delighted to welcome Mr. Mutaz Yahia, Certification Manager from Intertek who will provide an overview of the current process in order to help fellow EIC Members understand the requirements of the UAE UCAS programs and determine which products are in scope, including requirements for the ECAS Certificate of Conformity and the Emirates Quality Mark (EQM)
*Intertek is a Notified Body by ESMA for the EX scope*
