Sinopec Corp is one of the world’s largest integrated energy and chemical companies. At the turn of the year the company announced a plan to increase its capital expenditure to $17 billion during 2018, up from $14.4 billion. During the year the company is targeting production of 290 million barrels of crude oil, with 41 million coming from overseas, and 974.1 billion cubic feet of natural gas.

Sinopec Engineering, thanks in part to the increase in expenditure in the petroleum and chemical industry in China, has recently announced that the total value of contracts awarded in the first six months of 2018 amounted to $5.15 billion, representing an almost 100% increase on the previous years activities. Major awards included EPC contracts at the Zhanjiang (Guangdong) Refinery and Petrochemical complex project and Sinopec-SABIC Petrochemical polycarbonate project.
