About this event

The Energy from Waste (EfW) sector is going through an unprecedented period of growth and momentum both within the UK and increasingly, globally. In the UK alone, five facilities became operational in the first half of this year and the EIC are currently tracking close to 100 active and future developments. Further, recent studies suggest a strong requirement for additional capacity is required by 2030 while Brexit is likely to impact levels of RDF exports leading to increased levels of domestic waste management.

Increasingly, companies involved in the traditional power and oil and gas sectors are looking to the sector as a way of diversification and this EIC event will provide a strong introduction to the sector as well an exploration of its supply chain opportunities. The technologies used in EfW are transforming and the event will look at developments such as Advanced Conversion Technologies and Combined Heat and Power which allow the sector to benefit from green incentives such the Contracts for Difference auctions. It will also look to the future of the sector and explore advances and  projects in waste to chemicals and fuels. While focusing on the UK, the event will also assess some major international markets and the opportunities for supply chain companies.
