About this event
Hydrogen is becoming a cornerstone of Europe’s strategy to decarbonise industry, secure energy independence, and integrate renewable power. Europe stands in a prime position to become a global leader in hydrogen, thanks to its cross-border network vision and strong industrial demand. However, delays in execution could risk Europe losing its leadership. The achievement of 14 projects reaching FID across Europe in 2025 highlights the urgency: these projects must be delivered for Europe to stay at the forefront of the hydrogen transition.
Across the continent, billions of euros are being invested in the foundations of a new energy system, and plans for a dedicated hydrogen backbone are rapidly progressing. Ambitious electrolyser hubs are in development to convert wind and solar power into green hydrogen, while existing pipelines are being repurposed to form the first links of a cross-border network. Together, these initiatives are laying the groundwork for a continent-wide hydrogen infrastructure that will play a central role in Europe’s energy transition.
By 2030, the EU aims to produce 10 million tonnes of renewable hydrogen and import another 10 million tonnes annually, a scale that will transform supply chains, reshape markets, and strengthen Europe’s competitiveness. However, building infrastructure requires more than just technology. It calls for vision, leadership, and collaboration, among operators, investors, regulators, supply chain and policymakers.
Join us at the Hydrogen Infrastructure Breakfast, on the 22nd of October in Hamburg, Germany, to explore the future of hydrogen infrastructure, and discuss how Europe’s hydrogen networks are evolving. Spaces are limited – book now to avoid disappointment.
