Saudi Arabia is one of the world’s largest oil and gas export markets where considerable business opportunities exist for UK companies to capitalise on. Much of the energy sector in Saudi Arabia is driven by Saudi Aramco, the world’s top exporter of crude oil and natural gas liquids.
The EIC and UKTI are keen to help UK companies win business in Saudi Arabia, a market where perseverance and determination are required.
Karim Fatehi, MBE, Managing Director of United Corporation has proven experience of business success in Saudi Arabia and has agreed to share his knowledge and experience with UK companies, particularly SMEs, to help them succeed in Saudi Arabia. This event is an excellent opportunity to benefit from mentoring by someone with extensive experience of doing business in the country. United Corporation is an international energy services provider operating as a specialist procurement services organisation to the Oil, Gas and Petro-chemical industries with long term experience in the Arabian Gulf.
Nick Archer has oversight in UKTI's Trade Group of a range of markets including Middle East, Russia, Turkey and Central Asia. In addition he has a wider Trade coordination and planning role. In his current position Nick leads a number of UKTI High Value Opportunity campaigns, including a Russia sport campaign focussed on Sochi 2014 and the 2018 World Cup.
The EIC will present a project update from Neil Golding, Head of Oil & Gas. The team’s primary responsibility is researching, obtaining and analysing information relating to project intelligence and business opportunities in the global oil and gas market that are relevant to the UK supply chain, whilst also assessing global trends in the market. Neil has 14 years’ experience in working in the energy industry and prior to joining The EIC in 2007 worked for IHS Energy in numerous roles covering the E&P industry.
The event will also include a presentation on UKTI services available to help UK companies exporting to the Middle East. Brian Aungiers is an International Trade Adviser working for the Yorkshire and Humberside International Trade Team. Brian has considerable experience of helping UK companies do business in international markets and has also led a number of energy sector trade missions to Saudi Arabia.
Representatives from The Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia will also be present at the event and available to answer questions.
