Tullow awarded four Ivory Coast licences
12 October, 2017
Independent exploration and production company Tullow Oil has acquired 90% stakes in four onshore blocks in Ivory Coast.
The four blocks - CI 518, CI519, CI301 and CI302 - cover 5,035sq km and are located on the coastline of the West African country.
Tullow intends to start preparatory work immediately on these licences to allow a full survey to start in early 2018.
Petroci, Ivory Coast’s state-owned oil company, holds the remaining 10% of each licence.
Tullow Oil has been present in Ivory Coast for 20 years, and in addition to the above licences also holds a non-operating stake in the offshore Espoir field.
