Shell acquires UK energy tech firm Limejump
28 February, 2019
Anglo-Dutch energy major Shell has acquired the UK-based energy technology firm Limejump for an undisclosed fee.
Limejump, a digital energy company in the decentralised energy sector, manages some of the largest portfolios of batteries in the UK.
Last year it became the first aggregated virtual power plant unit to be admitted into the UK’s Balancing Mechanism market.
The transaction will be finalised later in 2019, after which Limejump will become a wholly-owned Shell subsidiary.
