19 June, 2017
The world's largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) company Qatargas has signed a deal to supply LNG to oil and gas giant Shell.
Under the terms of the contract, Qatargas will deliver up to 1.1m tonnes of LNG per year to Shell for a period of five years.
The contract is set to begin in 2019, with the Qatari company to ship the fuel to the Dragon LNG terminal in the UK or the Dutch Gate LNG terminal in the Port of Rotterdam, Holland.
The fuel will be shipped from the Qatargas 4 LNG plant, a joint venture between Qatar Petroleum (70%) and Shell (30%).
