Petrofac awarded US$135m Indian EPC contract

EIC member company Petrofac has been granted a lump-sum engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract by Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) valued at approximately US$135m (£97m).
The scope of work for the contract at BPCL’s Kochi refinery, Kerala, India, encompasses engineering, procurement, construction, pre-commissioning and assistance with commissioning.
The 27-month contract is for the addition of a new motor sprit block of refining units, which will increase the current output of the facility to meet India’s BS-VI automotive fuel quality.
UK-headquartered Petrofac is long-established in India, having won its first contract in the country in 1997 and has operational centres in Chennai, Delhi and Mumbai.
