First Prelude FLNG shipment sets sail

The first shipment of liquefied natural gas (LNG) has been sent from the giant Prelude Floating LNG (FLNG) facility, offshore Australia.
The delivery is being sent to customers in Asia on the Spanish LNG carrier Valencia Knutsen.
Approximately 3.6m tonnes per year (mtpa) of LNG is currently being produced at Prelude FLNG, as well as 1.4mtpa of condensate and 0.4mtpa of liquefied petroleum gas.
The facility is operated by Shell on behalf of joint venture partners INPEX Corp, Korea Gas Corp and CPC Corp’s unit Overseas Petroleum and Investment Corp.
