Enel starts construction of 497MW US solar plant

Italian company Enel’s renewable energy unit has begun construction of the 497MW Roadrunner solar complex in Texas.
On completion the Roadrunner project will become Enel’s largest US facility, generating 1.2TW hours of clean energy annually.
Enel’s US unit will develop the project in two phases. The first 252MW phase is expected to be finished this year. The second 245MW phase is scheduled for completion by the end of 2020.
To date, Enel has installed 6.9GW of renewable energy capacity in North and Central America.
