BP and Enpro Subsea sign technology agreement
07 March, 2019
Oil and gas supermajor BP and Aberdeen’s Enpro Subsea have signed a framework agreement to use Enpro’s patented Flow Access Module (FAM) technology.
BP used the FAM technology on its Kepler K3 project in the Gulf of Mexico, which enabled new technologies to be added to its standard subsea trees and manifolds, reducing costs and schedules.
Enpro's FAM technology enables maximum recovery from subsea wells. It creates an enhanced production 'USB port' within subsea trees and manifolds, allowing new technology to be plugged into standard systems.
BP and Enpro will now work together on the subsea tie-in work to take place at the Ariel field in the Gulf of Mexico.
