EIC-hosted Sinopec briefings increase UK supplier registration by 300%

On 16 and 17 October, the EIC hosted back to back Opportunities with Sinopec events at its London and Aberdeen offices, respectively.
The events introduced over 100 delegates to members of Sinopec’s senior European procurement team who detailed supply chain gaps in upcoming projects, explained how companies can work with them and gave demonstrations of its new EPEC e-commerce platform, which facilitates supply chain to businesses transactions of industrial products.
Within two days of the sessions, 21 of the companies represented at the events had registered on the EPEC e-commerce platform, a 300% increase in UK suppliers.
During 2017 over US$28bn of material and equipment was purchased through Sinopec’s procurement systems.
Sinopec is vertically integrated energy and chemical company, present in 26 countries. Its principal business includes exploring, developing, producing and trading of crude oil and natural gas, as well as the manufacturing and marketing of petroleum products and petrochemical products.
Last year it produced 294m barrels of crude oil, 921bn cubic feet of natural gas, processed 239m tonnes of crude oil and produced 11.6m tonnes of ethylene.
