EIC member company Wärtsilä has completed the 130MW Monterrey gas-fired power plant in northern Mexico.
The Finnish company built the power plant in 11 months from signing the contract to connecting it to the grid.
It will use seven Wärtsilä 50SG gas engines and will provide electricity for a nearby car manufacturer as part of an already signed long-term power purchase agreement.
Wärtsilä has been present in Mexico since 2004 and has installed 527MW of capacity in the country to date.
