Midstream Sector Update
05 Jun 2018, EIC Conference Suite, Houston
Open to: Fully Booked
As the volume of US oil and gas production has increased, the nation’s midstream sub-sector has been forced to adapt. With US production reaching record levels, billions of dollars are being spent on expanding and upgrading pipeline infrastructure, fuel and feedstock storage facilities and liquefied natural gas (LNG) processing units across the nation. More than 80 of these pipelines connect the US and Canada, as Canada is the source of nearly 45% of all annual US oil imports.
Similarly, Mexico is heavily reliant on imported US natural gas to meet its ever-growing demand. Multiple pipelines already exist that connect the two nations, and more are planned as the US establishes itself as a net energy exporter. Domestic infrastructure additions in Mexico have been ongoing for a number of years, however further investment will be required as development plans materialize on a number of the recently auctioned onshore and offshore exploration blocks.
EICDataStream is currently tracking just under US$675bn in potential midstream project CAPEX across the North American region.
Speakers will discuss opportunities in the midstream sector, providing key project information, and emphasizing business opportunities. Agenda
