The EIC is happy to announce the Breakfast in Rio: Exploring FPSO Opportunities with Seatrium and MISC
Seatrium is a global provider of specialised engineering solutions for the offshore, marine and energy sectors, formed in 2023 through the merger of Sembcorp Marine Ltd and Keppel Offshore & Marine. In Brazil, Seatrium has been present since 2000, initially operating the Brasfels shipyard in Angra dos Reis, and has since expanded to operate two additional shipyards in Aracruz and Navegantes. The company is a leading engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) contractor for the offshore, naval and energy sectors, with a strong track record in local content development.
The company most significant recent milestone in Brazil was the delivery of the FPSO Petrobras 78 (P-78), which achieved first oil on 31 December 2025, followed by first gas injection just 61 days later. Operating at approximately 2,100m water depth in the Búzios field, the P-78 is one of the largest FPSOs ever delivered in the country, with a production capacity of up to 180,000bbl/d. The unit is the first of six platforms under construction by Seatrium for Petrobras, with the remaining five (P-80, P-82, P-83, P-84 and P-85) currently underway, which together are expected to add approximately 1.3 million bbl/d to Brazil's production capacity.
