“EIC provide an excellent service which enables small companies to participate in exhibitions and shows around the world, which otherwise they would be unable to attend.” – William Wood, Sciencesoft
“We chose to participate in MEOS to gain access to contacts from Saudi Arabia. The proportion of visitors from Saudi Arabia was high and afforded us an opportunity to meet contacts that would otherwise be impractical.” – Ian Laing, OPITO
“The support from all of the organising UK staff (EIC, OES & Embassy) has been excellent.” – Hazel Bonner, Quest Geo Solutions Ltd
Taking place for the 16th time, MEOS continues to enjoy the unwavering support of the Gulf’s National Oil companies, all of which take centre piece stands in the exhibition. These organisations including Saudi Aramco, regard MEOS as the most important petroleum engineering conference in the Middle East. This high status is demonstrated by the large numbers of senior delegates who attend the event.
MEOS produced over 6000 trade visitors and conference delegates from through the GCC countries in 2007. It is confidently expected that the attendance at MEOS 2009 will be considerably larger. International oil companies active in the Middle East’s petroleum industry are using MEOS to meet the region’s decision makers.
MEOS is privileged to receive the full support of senior technical staff from the following national oil companies:
Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC)
Bahrain Petroleum Company (BAPCO)
Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC)
Petroleum Development Oman (PDO)
Qatar Petroleum (QP)
Saudi Aramco
MEOS 2009 will take place at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre, a modern exhibition and conference complex offering some of the finest exhibition facilities in the Middle East. It is situated within 5 minutes of downtown Manama and close to all major hotels.

The meeting place for the Gulf’s Petroleum Industry
Bahrain is a cluster of islands in the Arabian Gulf which has long been famed for its hospitality, pure drinking water and trade. Today Bahrain’s hospitality includes many first class hotels and restaurants, offering refreshment and relaxation to all. Its suitability as a place in which to do trade now has international recognition: the World Trade Organisation rates Bahrain as the best place in the Gulf in which to do business.
In more recent times it was the first country in the Middle East to find and produce oil. This is not so surprising when you consider that Bahrain is surrounded by most of the world’s petroleum reserves.
Aramco’s headquarters in the Eastern Province are just over the causeway, Also within easy reach are Qatar, Iran, Kuwait and Abu Dhabi. This combination of factors is tailor-made for the Middle East’s oil and gas industry. If you have not been to Bahrain before, there has never been a better time.
